About Xandra Homes
She started painting in 2007 under the tutelage of George Bevill, Muralist and her grandfather. He taught her much about starting a big painting and finishing quickly and efficiently. Prior to that work experience, she had only ever worked on small scale paintings and drawings in school. Her favorite teacher, Donna Reedy, had taught her the importance of high contrast and wonderful, brightly colored compositions. After leaving Mr. Bevill's assistance in 2012 and finishing school with a degree in Communications and Art History from University of Houston, she continued to paint murals and began teaching painting classes at Painting with a Twist. She has learned much by working there from working with other artists and studying other's techniques.
Something that tends to set Xandra apart from most is her whimsy with color and high contrast. And in portraiture, her favorite part of the anatomy is the eyes, so they tend to be prominent and bright. Landscapes tend to be water scenes and brightly colored.
Commissions are very much welcome especially with the opportunity to further my skill and try new techniques.
